Rob Blakemore Rob is the Manager of ETC who provides specialist training services in areas of water treatment, reticulation, and asset management. He has 29 years of experience - principally from a water supply background in design, operations and asset management. He is a former President of NZWWA and a current member of the MoH Expert Committee for Drinking Water Quality, he has been active in the development of new qualifications for water and wastewater.

Bert Gray Bert has 42 years experience in wastewater treatment, operation and management and provides training in wastewater treatment and all areas of reticulation. A "father figure" of water industry training, he is well known for his support of operational personnel throughout New Zealand.

Ian Couling Ian has 26 years of experience to support his high training profile throughout New Zealand. His laboratory background is coupled with significant involvement in the resolution of water and wastewater operational issues. He also provides expert advice in swimming pool management. Ian provides training in water and wastewater treatment, swimming pool management and reticulation operation, water quality sampling and testing and quality assurance.

Sarah Cresswell Sarah has a background as a laboratory technician, and has developed training skills for mathmatics and science topics, swimming pool management and chemical handling. She covers most of the training for school and hospitality pools. Sarah is also responsible for moderation activities, coordinating long distance learning and workplace assessment options.

Russell Kean Russell has an extensive background in instrumentation design, development, electronics and embedded systems. Previously he was a lecturer in the Software and Electronics Engineering Department of the Central Institute of Technology for 16 years, and more recently has been delivering the Process Control unit standards for Opus' Environmental Training Centre.

Eric Thorn Eric is a Principal Environmental Engineer and Associate, Opus, with 30 years experience as an Engineer. Eric is a specialist in the design and supervision and maintenance of water, stormwater and sewer reticulation systems. He is also responsible for providing environmental engineering and management services including study and reporting, concept and detailed design, consent applications, project management and contract administration in Opus' largest environmental specialist services team based in Auckland. Eric has been delivering the two day stormwater design and management course for 8 years.

Chris Breen Chris is a Principal Environmental Engineer and Partner, Opus, with 27 years experience as an engineer. Chris specialises in water and wastewater systems design, trenchless technologies, pipeline rehabilitation and asset management planning. Chris is currently design team leader for the North Shore City Wastewater Upgrade Project with design responsibility for pumping components and conceptual design development of other reticulation system features. He provides peer review of design and system functionality compliance for other civil project components such as pipelines and storage facilities. Chris has been delivering the two day stormwater design course for 8 years.

Nick van LooyNick has 20 years experience the water and petroleum industry working in hazardous environments. He is a director in his own company, Pipevision Ltd. Nick is the principal trainer in the Confined Spaces and CCTV courses.

John BlackA Principal Environmental Engineer with Opus International Consultants
John has accumulated considerable experience with concrete pipes in a wide variety of sizes and applications from DN 225 sewers and stormwater pipes, to DN 1200 pressure mains, and up to DN 2100 gravity pipelines. He has been “Engineer to the Contract” for a number of challenging pipeline projects.
He brings a practical and pragmatic approach to pipeline design, installation and operational issues, and has developed a number of pipe condition assessment techniques for pipelines of all pipe materials, many of which can be applied to operational pipelines.
