RMA Compliance Course
 
This is a one-day practical course for those involved with stormwater, wastewater or sediment control resource consent compliance.

It starts with a short introduction to the Resource Management Act which follows through to consent and compliance implementation.

The focus will be in active participation, which will involve working in groups to review case studies and examples.

Content
  • Preparing Consent Applications: (Theory)
    The process involved; how to prepare your consent application; assessment of environmental effects; and the consultation process required.
  • Understanding Consents: (Theory)
    An explanation of the different types of consent conditions; monitoring requirements; an understanding of these conditions and how to integrate them into everyday operations.

  • Implementing Conditions: (Group Case Study)
    Groups will be given examples of consent applications and asked to identify risks to the environment; identify the monitoring requirements of certain conditions and which conditions will need to form part of their standard operating procedures.

  • Compliance and Enforcement: (Theory)
    Overview of how to ensure you are in compliance with a consent; understanding enforcement notices; and how and when to enforce.
  • Compliance and Enforcement: (Case Study)
    The group will be given images, plans and the history of a real construction site, and the conditions of consent and current compliance; they will then be asked to respond from both the compliance officer and consent holders point of view.
Who should attend?

This course is aimed at a mix of regional and local authority officers, water utility operators, asset owners, contractors and consultants.

An advantage of participants attending this course is the opportunity to network with others who are involved in different aspects of the regulatory process, and thus gain a greater understanding of the issues involved.

Price

The price for this one-day course is $500 + GST.

Delivery

The course will be delivered in a one-day workshop context. Each participant will be given a CD “resource pack” with information including good practice guides, consent and compliance procedures.

Also included is a course folder containing slides, case studies and a summary of tips to assist in re-affirming key messages delivered during the course.

Withdrawals and Cancellation Policy
  • If you cannot attend a course, a substitute participant is welcome.
  • If you withdraw from a course in writing or email more than ten working days prior to the course, you will receive a full refund less $50 administration fee.
  • If you withdraw within ten working days, you will receive a 50% refund.
  • Regrettably, if you do not attend the course and have not advised us in writing or by email before the course date the full fee will apply. However, you will be sent the training material upon request.
  • If a course is rescheduled or cancelled due to lack of numbers, or any other valid reason, you will be advised 10 working days before the course and your course fee will be refunded in full.
  • Participants are responsible for their own travel/accommodation bookings and no compensation will be made should the course be rescheduled or cancelled.

Discount Options

Group Saver: Register and pay for 3 team members on the same course and the third participant will receive a 50% discount off the full price.

NB: Not available for Supersaver or Early Bird Saver plans.

Supersaver: Register and pay 3 months before the course date for a 20% discount.

Early Bird Saver: Register and pay between 3 months and 6 weeks before the course commences for a 12.5% discount.

Full Price: Register and pay 6 weeks before the course date.

Multiple Course Savers: Multiple course discounts if registering and paying at the same time a 20% discount when registering 8 weeks before the course.

In House Training Course: If you have a group of 8 or more, consider in house training,choose the course, the location and the time and save up to 30%.

Payment in Advance

Discounts are only available on enrolment if registration and payment meets the price plan terms and conditions. We offer payment by credit card, direct deposit, cheque or on receipt of an invoice. Please note, a 3% service fee will be charged for payment by credit card.

Applicants are enrolled on the course however a place is not confirmed until payment has been made. If the course has an attendance limit then prepaid enrolments will have priority.
