Swimming Pool Water courses for Schools Unit Standard 20046 Monitor Public Pool Water Quality and Safe Storage of Chemicals
NZQA Unit Standard 20046 will help you to comply with the training requirements of NZS 5826:2000 Pool Water Quality Standard.
This one day course focuses on the water quality requirements of NZS 5826:2000 and is a basic introduction to the operation and maintenance of pool equipment.
Who should attend?
The course has been specifically developed for swimming pool operational staff, school caretakers and managers of small pools. It is also a good introduction to any pool operational staff as well as maintenance personnel, pool advisors, pool installers and pool sales people.
There is no pre-requisite to this course. Participants must have access to a swimming pool to be able to complete the course requirements.
This course is also a good refresher for those people who hold Unit Standard 16252 and Unit Standard 20046.
Course Content
Topics covered during the training include:
- Basic knowledge of swimming pool systems
- Introduction to NZ Safety Standards NZ5826:2000 and NZ4441:1985
- Introduction to microbiology and disease risks
- Introduction to managing chemical water quality
- Introduction to equipment operation and maintenance
- Hands on practice of pool testing
- Basic pool corrective procedures
- Understanding safe chemical practice
Costs
The price for this one day course is $300 + GST.
The price for this one day course for those that already hold a pool unit standard is $150 + GST.
